Job Introduction

Last year, thousands of people stepped forward to offer their time and skills to support NHS England’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign. Because of them we were able to roll out primary vaccinations to millions, saving thousands of lives and making the connections we value possible once more.

With the emergence of the Omicron variant, the vaccination programme was ramped up further. But while millions of booster vaccinations have already been administered, there's still much work to done. So join us now and you too could play a crucial role in protecting the connections that matter to us all. We are fully committed to providing the widest opportunities for skilled training and development as soon as you join the vaccine programme. Many people who are part of the programme have now begun a new career in the NHS across a huge variety of roles-over 11,500 people have stayed with us in paid jobs or training programmes

The role

Thousands of people are continuing to sign up to get their booster jabs, which means vaccination centres are as busy as ever. You’ll help ensure the smooth running of your centre by providing administrative support across the site.

Your specific and important responsibilities will include accessing and maintaining accurate patient records, always following the site’s confidentiality policy. You’ll also support vaccinators with the delivery of vaccines through updating of vaccination records, recording that consent has been given and the vaccination completed. We’ll also be looking to you to ensure the highest standards of infection control and waste management are maintained at the vaccination station.

Who we are looking for

To succeed in this important role, you’ll be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent, e.g., 2 A Levels / National Diploma) or have experience in a role involving administration.

You will have great teamworking skills, the ability to communicate well with members of the public and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.

As part of the process, you'll receive training to prepare you for your role.

Where you’ll be working

We are looking for individuals to provide Administrative Support across all regions in England. If your application is successful, you will be given the opportunity to work at one or several of the vaccination centres in your region.
